They Need Books Not Brikes - Stop Child Labour
This picture of two boys who are lifting brikes on their head. What is it showing to us the strength of both of them that they can lift heavy weight on their head or is it showing to us that how weak we are. Actually only the society is responsible for the bad concern. Although there are so many NGO’s and organizations like UNICEF are working to stop this around the globe but still the child are facing the dangerous impact of Child Labour. Specially in developing countries child lablour is a practical device for industry sector. So many rules and laws made by these states to stop child labour but it is still in practice because of lack of political interest to the social welfare and the greedy needs of the people. Even in common middle class household we can easily find a child labour. IT is the depth of our social morals that we are giving air to this bad practice. These child need a social status and liberty to play , study and invent. The future of us is in these hands who never deserves to pull brikes. Take a step and make people aware to stop child labour.

Surely they need books and not brikes but it is their compulsion to work. For earning the livelihood they will have to work. Even if the government will free education to them, they will work.

What has happened with government's slogan free and compulsory education to all the children? Under the prevailing circumstances, it will never be possible to provide compulsory education to the children.

The system is well oiled with the politicians backing, enforcement inspectorates regularly bribed, social organisations lead astray on false consequences and conniving parents and procurement agents co-operating to continue the cruel exploitation of child labour. And this is being done not by old bandicoots who did not understand about children's rights in a civilized world, but by present generation industrialists who jet across the globe atleast once a year with their kith and kin for pleasure, and holding honarary positions in social organisations.

There is a lot a child can learn from working. Stipulate the conditions, but dont stop it altogether. Many poor families depend on it for extra income.

I think these are western sensibilities that are making us think this way. But these same western nations had child labour till they reached the statge of prosperity where the child labour went away all by itself.
Laws of any nation are best based on the economic realities of that nation and not on sentiments.

Lot of work needs to be done yes. But more importantly, even on small scales it'll help. Just waiting for big things to happen won't help.
